The garden gets a group of its own

Busy Bee Gardeners started this term — a volunteer group who come together on Wednesday mornings to look after the garden.

Last Wednesday we held our very first Busy Bee Gardeners session, and what a way to begin.

Group leader Shaz, along with Rochelle and new members, spent the morning exploring the garden, sharing their love of gardening and talking through ideas for the space. After all the rain the timing couldn’t have been better — the soft soil made weeding a breeze.

There are plenty of plans for the garden in the weeks ahead, but caring for and maintaining the space will always be part of it. Most of all, the three of them simply enjoyed being outdoors, surrounded by nature and good company.

Before the group started, our volunteers Liz and Rochelle spent time tidying and refreshing the garden — thank you both.

Busy Bee Gardeners meets every Wednesday, 10:30am – 12:30pm. No experience needed. Just bring yourself and a willingness to get involved.
